Work From Anywhere: Yapstone’s Flexible Workplace Policy


In the past two years, we have been working in ways we never thought possible. Sitting in our kitchens, our dining rooms, and even our bedrooms, we learned to connect virtually with our teammates and customers. We maintained productivity during a global health and economic crisis through our resiliency, creativity, and agility.

Throughout this crisis, we discovered a lot about our own work styles and needs. As a result, we created a flexible workplace strategy that empowers employees to take the flexibility they need while balancing business needs. We have reimagined our headquarters, reached incredible company milestones from our home offices, and above all, learned a lot about how we can successfully work together and thrive in this remote world.

Carrie Walecka, our Chief People Officer, believes empowering employees is key to business success. Carrie said:

What does flexible mean?

We believe that giving all employees the choice to decide how and where they work shouldn’t be an added perk or benefit - but the new normal.

Working from home


Forget the morning commute; we consider working from home the new standard here at Yapstone. Since our company culture promotes efficiency, flexibility, and innovation, we encourage everyone to work remotely, anytime they see fit, and as much as you’d like. However, we also want our remote employees to still feel a part of the team, which is why we also have virtual coffee breaks and education sessions to help you feel connected to your colleagues wherever they’re located in the world.

Working from the office


Of course, remote working isn’t for everyone. So, the door is always open for employees who love the camaraderie and collaboration that comes with an office trip. Our San Francisco and Ireland offices have community spaces with hotdesking that enables connection and collaboration amongst employees. Plus, a permanently assigned desk is always an option for those who wish to work in the office full time.

Working from… well, anywhere in the world

Where remote working is the new standard practice, we believe you should be free to do this anywhere – another city, county, state, or country – the choice is entirely yours! Here at Yapstone, we will always strive to accommodate your request so you can keep progressing in your career, wherever that might be. Last summer, our API Underwriting Specialist, Gloria Hartwick, spent two months working from Spain. Here's what Gloria had to say about the experience:
